Stand-up for corporate audiences

Comedy works brilliantly at offsites and annual days when the content suits the room. We ask management for a clean set and share details about your audience — industry, age range and languages — so the comedian can tailor the material. A 30 to 45 minute set after dinner is a common format.

Combining roles

Some well-known hosts also do comedy, and some comedians host. For tighter budgets of time, one personality can open the evening, run awards and close with a short set. We suggest names that fit that kind of brief.

Preparing the host

Send the final run-of-show, correct pronunciation of names, award categories, sponsor mentions and any topics to avoid. If the event is bilingual, mark which segments are in Hindi and which in English. A short call between your event lead and the host a day or two before the event often saves confusion on stage.

For award nights, give the host a printed and a digital cue sheet. Last-minute changes are common, and a host who has the latest version can handle them gracefully.

Placing the comedy slot

Stand-up works best when the audience is seated, fed and not distracted. Avoid placing a comedian during dinner service or straight after a loud DJ set. A quiet room, good microphone and clear sight lines to the stage make a big difference to how well the set lands.
